ARY Digital HD is a pay television network in Pakistan, the Middle East, North America, and Europe. The ARY Group of Companies is a Dubai-based holding corporation created by Abdul Razzak Yaqoob (ARY), a Pakistani businessman. The network only serves the Pakistani diaspora. The channel features a growing network of channels, each with its own purpose.

ARY Digital, formerly known as The Pakistani Channel, debuted in the United Kingdom on September 16, 2000, to serve the region's Pakistani community.[Citation required] The uplink teleport station is provided by Samacom, an uplink provider situated in the UAE. The channel began with a format similar to PTV Prime and other South Asian networks, featuring slots for soap operas in general and an hourly slot for news headlines. Although blazing political chat shows and dramas were the network's main programming priorities, the network was quickly praised for its news coverage.

The ARY Star Gold Quiz Show was the first live show to give a prize of one kilogramme of gold in 2002. During the show, contestants won almost 260 kilogrammes of gold. The network acquired the rights to show Live 8 on its sister music channel, The Musik, in 2005. The station also has the Pakistani rights to the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire brand.

On October 18, 2007, the majority of the ARY news team was killed by one of two bombings while covering former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's return from exile. Photos of the victims were presented live throughout the news hour, and prayers were held. Bhutto was later securely transported to an official government residence.
